A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, April 4, 1969 issue – St. Francis Xavier School was to be converted to an office building and starting next term the 50 pupils of the two-room school would be transported to Holy Family School in Hanover. This school, constructed five years ago in Carlsruhe was the new home of the Bruce-Grey RC School Board. The Carlsruhe Separate School Section was organized in November 1897 and the following year a two-storey white brick building erected across from the church. This building was used until replaced five years ago.

A peek from the Town Crier’s October 18, 1968 issue – Last week was Fire Prevention Week and here is part of a parade that took place in Mildmay shortly after the supper hour. A peek from the Town Crier’s October 4, 1968 issue – Just a look at one of Herb Waechter’s Hackney Ponies is enough to see why he is copping a great many Fair prizes at area and Canadian National Exhibition events. This photo was snapped at the Neustadt Fair after he took all the firsts and a second.
