A peek from the Town Crier’s Wednesday, June 3, 2009 issue – As part of their environment 4-H club The Tree Huggers spent one of their meetings doing a roadside cleanup. A peek from the Town Crier’s Wednesday, September 13, 2000 issue – One of the highlights at the Mildmay-Carrick Fall Fair was the “Farmer’s Olympics”.   Teams had to don coveralls and then corral a greased pig and return him to his box pen. “Arnold” caught onto the game quite quickly and gave members a real chase.  This was the youngest team in the Olympics and they really did very well and had the crown cheering them on.  – Town Crier photos

A peek from the Town Crier’s Wednesday, September 27, 2000 issue – The Candy Draw at the Sacred Heart Parish Bazaar in Mildmay was a popular spot for children of all ages including Paige Fortney, of Mildmay, who was very interested in the treats that her Mom, Jennifer was helping her to unwrap. The yearly bazaar also features a Penny Table, Ham and Cake Wheels, Bingo, Crafts and more.    – Town Crier photo

A peek from the Town Crier’s Wednesday, September 15, 2010 issue – The Mildmay Pee Wee girls ball team captured the Major WOAA girls title, something that has never been done in the trophy’s 36 year history!  They won over a very strong Tavistock team in the finals.  Back row (l-r): Kristen Ruetz, Natalie Campbell (Assistant Coach), Cassidy Becker, Crystal Kreager (Coach). #1 A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, July 24, 1970 issue – The Mildmay Playground “Backwards Parade” was held to wrap up the second week of sessions at the Conservation Park. Above (left) we see the winners of the afternoon members in the “Most Original” class, and when they turned the right way (right) we see Heather Dahms (the 1st prize winner) and Sherry Culbert (the runner-up). 

#2 Again in the afternoon Playground section, we have the winners in the “Backwards Class” (left) which when turned around the proper way (right) shows that the 1st prize honours went to Karen Koenig and Karen Haylow, the runner-up.   – Town Crier photos

A peek from the Town Crier’s Tuesday, July 10, 1990 issue – Canada Day traffic passing through the Village of Mildmay on Saturday, June 30th took a second look when they confronted the four-team hitch and stagecoach winding its way up main street. The stage was very popular throughout the day as Mildmay Businesspersons and Mildmay Agri-Services provided free rides during “Mildmay’s Western Days”. The unit was provided by Frank Murray and Don Scott of  Teeswater and above they were caught by the Town Crier photographer as they left the Mildmay Conservation Park
