A peek from the Town Crier’s July 5, 1979 issue – Toronto’s Metro Police Red Team literally “walked away” with the silverware and top prize money at the Tug of War Competition held on Saturday, June 23, 1979 in Formosa. The event was part of the activities connected with the Official Opening of that community’s new recreational facility. The Toronto Metro won every pull in the tourney… their toughest “tug” was against that city’s second entry, the Toronto Metro Police Blue Team.   – Town Crier photo

A peek from the Town Crier’s April 19, 1994 issue – Mildmay Bantams are 1993-94 All-Ontario Champions – Pictured are the members of the Mildmay Bantam “D” Hockey Team immediately following their victory over Mariposa Township “Lightning”. The last time Mildmay Bantams won an “All-Ontario” crown was back in the 1960-61 season, so it has been a dry period in that department.  A peek from the Historical Souvenir Programme Mildmay-Carrick Centennial Celebration May 19-22, 1967  – Fire Dept. – Old – Displaying the fire engine used in 1914 in Mildmay and vicinity are Driver Joseph Lobsinger, Engineer John Diebel (bearded), Ed Diebel, John Roseneur and Peter Lobsinger (a youth) looking on.  

 Over fifty years later the same Peter Lobsinger of Mildmay again shows the pride and joy of the town, the latest addition to the volunteer Fire Department. Mr. Lobsinger was in his 54th year as a member of the local brigade.

A peek from the Town Crier’s February 21, 1984 issue – Twenty Figure Skating Clubs in the area recently competed in the Blue Star Interclub Competition in Hanover.  These Mildmay skaters eked out a third place standing at the end of the competition. A peek from the Town Crier’s February 19, 2014 issue – Mildmay-Carrick Public School held an “Olympic Spirit Day”.  All of the students were wearing Canada’s colours (red and white) as well as team jerseys and other sports clothing.  All the staff and students are pictured with a  huge banner painted by the students that read “Go Canada Go – Mildmay-Carrick Public School”.    – Town Crier photo
