A peek from the Town Crier’s July 5, 1979 issue – Toronto’s Metro Police Red Team literally “walked away” with the silverware and top prize money at the Tug of War Competition held on Saturday, June 23, 1979 in Formosa. The event was part of the activities connected with the Official Opening of that community’s new recreational facility. The Toronto Metro won every pull in the tourney… their toughest “tug” was against that city’s second entry, the Toronto Metro Police Blue Team.   – Town Crier photo
