A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, June 14, 1968  issue – One minute you have a barn and in just a blink of your eye you no longer have a barn… that’s about the way it was here in the Mildmay area on Thursday night, June 11th. Several saw the funnel-like storm as it swept across the area from west to east, leaving in its path thousands upon thousands of dollars damage. Photo on top: This is Simon Breig’s barn which was wiped out by the twister. The owner was just walking into his farm home when part of the roof on a building attached to the house blew off.  Second photo: Edgar Hundt’s barn on the east side of Mildmay was also a total loss.
