A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, February 5, 1971 issue – Rotarians gathered together amid rows of candles when hydro power failed on Tuesday evening, the starting day of what proved to be a week-long snowstorm, termed the worst since 1947. Power was only off in Mildmay for an hour and a half, some places lacked power for days. Rotarians still turned out well despite the snow, with some 30 of the 40 finally making their appearance.   – Town Crier photo(You can read the complete story about this storm on page 8 of the February 4, 2021 issue of the Town Crier)
