FORMOSA – The Formosa and District Lions Club held their June Lottery draw with the following people winning $40: Brian Gutscher, Formosa; Tom Elviss, Fenwick; Mike and Angel Inglis, Guelph, Al Schnurr, Formosa and Pat Morely, Mildmay.
Lion Bill Borho was presented with the Art Woods Golden Tree Award. This award is to recognize an individual for his contribution to the environment or service in Lions.
Borho is a charter member of the Formosa Lions and served as president from 1987 to 1989. He spearheaded the Valley View Terrace Seniors Home build and also led the street naming and house numbering project in Formosa.
Borho also looked after the Formosa Lions Toy Show. He was reeve for Culross Township in 1981 and 82 and co-chaired the 2008 Plowing match in Teeswater .
Currently Borho is park chairman and he and his helpers are always looking after the trees, grounds and water at the Park.
Formosa Lions Club officials estimate Borho has probably spent thousands of hours working at the park.
