This is a class photo from Mildmay Separate School 1960-61.  It was submitted by Lisa Martin who found it at her mom’s home.  The first names have been written on the photo.  The only people Lisa could identify were Brenda Ernewein (bottom row, second from left) and Keith Campbell Jr. (bottom row, third from right).  Are any of our Town Crier readers able to identify the students?

A peek from the Town Crier’s June 25, 2003 issue – Pete and Kathy Liesemer became the fourth generation of owners of Liesemer’s Home Hardware over the past 130 years.  They took over from Jean and the late Harvey “Jiggs” Liesemer.  Pete commented during the ribbon cutting ceremony that “maybe the time will come when either of his children, Kailee or Jared, will become the fifth generation”.         – Town Crier photo

A peek from the Town Crier’s August 17, 1973 issue – Some Old Boy forewarned motorists entering Mildmay over the 4-day Mildmay-Carrick Old Boys Reunion when he placed his own sign on the Mildmay population sign.  The prank made motorists do a “double take” and gave them a big laugh, others caught the view on film, and it got a spot on the National TV news as well as locally televised spots.      – Town Crier photo

Crier subscriber  and former Mildmayite Ted Hesch sent us this very interesting and timely photo due to the  recent Coronation of the new King Charles.  Ted, a retired member of the RCMP, was involved in providing security for him when he visited Calgary, Alberta as a Prince in 1977.  The photo was taken at the  Sarcee Indian Reserve now known as the Tsuu Tina Reserve located adjacent to Calgary.  Ted, in uniform, is pictured at the right. Prince Charles, in the middle of the photo, was in prayer with the local Sarcee Indians.  (Thank you Ted for sharing your photo!)
