A peek from the Town Crier’s Tuesday, July 21, 1987 issue – Nadine Matthews of RR#5 Mildmay accepts the keys of a candy red Corvette (valued at about $40,000.00). The car was the grand prize in a Chatelaine magazine “Famous Beauty Brands” contest. The price of a postage stamp was all it took to win. Nadine’s entry was one of over 900,000 submitted.  She picked up the car at Walkerton Motor Sales. Bill Baillie (left) proprietor of the business presented Nadine with the keys.      – Town Crier photo
