A peek from the Town Crier’s Tuesday, December 19, 1989 issue – The heading for this photo read “Get Those Butts Up Out’ta The Snow!” The cutlines read: “Come on you guys, the water’s great… you aren’t trying to duck out of your duty of having your early morning bath, are you?” says the two Rotary Club swans “The Captain” and “The Lady”. While the circle of open water had closed down somewhat overnight because of the extreme cold nights the week before, there was still ample space for everyone (so The Captain felt). Actually there was a brief moment or two when the Crier photographer felt that The Captain was beckoning for him to join in the fun, but a second look at our feet convinced him otherwise. – Town Crier photo
