A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, October 1, 1971 issue – Herbert G. Weiler had been in the hardware sales business with Liesemer’s Hardware of Mildmay for the past 60 years. Mr. Weiler began in 1911 for the then known “Liesemers Kalbfleisch Hardware and Tinsmithing”. He began working in the tinsmithing section of the firm for $75.00 a year plus board (and that was $50.00 more than what was normally paid to apprentices).      – Town Crier photo
