A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, January 21, 1977 issue – With the heavy snowfall the past while, meant that workers had to keep the Mildmay-Carrick Arena roof clear in accordance with an agreement with the Ministry or face complete closure of the building until proper repairs to the snowload strength of the arena arches are made. Board members have been keeping a close watch and like above, closed up the building until workers had the roof back in shape. A public meeting was scheduled and will likely decide the future of the local arena and hall.  (Note: At the time of this photo, the arena was where the Mildmay Medical Clinic is now located.) – Town Crier photo
