A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, February 20, 1970 issue – Now that’s what we call a real “PLUG”! Fire insurance rates would surely decrease at the Walkerton District Secondary School if this building-high fire plug were real. . . however, we would imagine that Fire Chief Irwin Lobsinger and his crew of firemen might also have a bit of difficulty finding a hose big enough to fit. . . he just wouldn’t have the right connections! Grade 13A must have had the right connections for they placed first in snow sculpturing this beauty. As for the dog in this photo, he too is made of snow, and with such a sizeable “plug”, he’s got problems as well. . . – Town Crier photo
