A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, February 20, 1970 issue – Close to 200 attended the Mildmay Town League Ball Banquet at the Arena. Carrick Pensioners captured both the Mildmay Rotary Trophy (League Championship) and the Formosa Brewery Trophy (ending regular season in first place) while the finalist entry was the Formosa Mustang club, winners of the Station Hotel Trophy. The thrill for those two teams came at the close of the playoffs… but four players got their thrill when their names were called out to receive individual awards. A vote by the coaches showed this tie.
