A peek from the Town Crier files – Friday, September 3, 1976 – Another service was added to the Mildmay branch of the Bank of Montreal as announced by Manager Bob Bell. Merchants and organizations had been requesting a night depository for some years.  Businessman Harvey “Jiggs” Liesemer is pictured learning how to operate the newly installed unit.  Also pictured are Marlene Dietz (centre) and Lois Steffler (right). The Mildmay bank announced as well that it would be expanding in the Fall. The bank had bought the former Lorraine’s Ladies and Men’s Wear store (owned by Lorraine and Wayne Dickison) and planned to add offices in that area.   – Town Crier photo
