A peek from the Town Crier files – Friday, August 8, 1969 – Members of the Mildmay-Carrick Fire Department prepare to extinguish the remaining blaze inside the roof of the Sacred Heart Church’s sacristy. The fire was discovered by a member of the C.W.L. during a funeral dinner which was being served in the basement at the time of the outbreak. The fire caused $35,000 in damage.
