A peek from the Town Crier’s Wednesday, October 26, 2011 issue – A big piece of Belmore history went up in smoke on Saturday, May 28, 2011 when the local grocery store was destoyed by fire. Last week, the Belmore General Store, located on the Culross Township side of four different municipalities, was pulled down by backhoe and materials hauled away by two dump trucks. It took only two days to complete the deed. A delegation of Belmore citizens appeared before South Bruce Council asking to remove the building in fear of the possibility that children might be injured if playing around it. – Town Crier photo
