A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, April 4, 1969 issue – St. Francis Xavier School was to be converted to an office building and starting next term the 50 pupils of the two-room school would be transported to Holy Family School in Hanover. This school, constructed five years ago in Carlsruhe was the new home of the Bruce-Grey RC School Board. The Carlsruhe Separate School Section was organized in November 1897 and the following year a two-storey white brick building erected across from the church. This building was used until replaced five years ago.
