A peek from the Town Crier’s Friday, April 5 & 19, 1968 issues – Photo at left: “More batter needed” was the call as these four were kept busy mixing pancake batter at Belmore’s first Maple Syrup Festival on April 13, 1968. Many, many dozens of eggs were required to make the batter and close to 300 lbs. of flour. Pictured (left to right) are Mrs. Gord Weir, Mrs. Lloyd Jacques, Mrs. Delmar Dickert and Mrs. Robert McComb. Photo at right: One of the final duties to perform in the making of maple syrup was to put the product in a container.
