Yes, Dennis “Hymie” Schnurr had a huge crop of apples this year at his Mildmay residence, BUT, he also grew some huge, one might even say massive specimens! He explained that he has two small grafts on the tree about 3-4’ long, and he got 2-3 dozen of these huge “Alexanders” apples from those 2 grafts! In total, Schnurr has 3 apple trees with about 26 different varieties. The photo below shows a regular sized apple on the right and one of the huge apples that filled Hymie’s tree.
